Silver is the safest metallic in a ballroom: it picks up whatever the room is lit with and sits under any gown colour without fighting it. Here the whole upper is a fine silver glitter, broken by two narrow strips of smooth metallic leather that loop across the instep and give the shoe a shape rather than leaving it a flat sparkling block. The toe is closed and rounded for smooth and standard, and the crossed ankle strap buckles on the outside of the foot. It is built low on purpose and comes in two heights only — a 1inch Cuban for anyone who wants to be almost flat through a teaching day, and a 1.5inch Cuban for a little more line under a gown. Anti-bacterial lining inside, memory foam under the arch, suede outer sole below.
